Steven Devine is a harpsichordist and director working with many of the leading ensembles and soloists in the musical business.
He has recently recorded Bach's monumental Goldberg Variations for Chnados records. At the recent South Bank concert of the same piece, Early Music Review wrote "...an excellent late-morning performance...by Steven Devine, his sense of timing, rhetoric, lyricism and sheer wit being to the fore. Devine gripped the attention of the audience from the start."
Since 2007 he has been the harpsichordist with London Baroque, in addition to his rôle as Co-Principal keyboard for the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
Last year was a bumper year for recordings featuring Steven: a new release with The Gonzaga Band (Sacred Garland, on the Chandos Label) and 'The Contest of Apollo and Pan' (featuring the group Apollo and Pan, also on the Chandos Label) both featuring Steven as harpsichordist and organist. Steven co-directed, with Liz Kenny, the award winning release of Dido and Aeneas, with Sarah Connolly in the title rôle.
Many of these are available at attractive prices from Steven's own specialist webshop at www.devinemusic.co.uk
In June, Steven will continue recording with London Baroque on the BIS label; one disc is recorded already, three more are planned.
It is possible to buy all these and the complete Finchcocks Series, not to mention his friend, Colin Booth's Soundboard Record series, from the dedicated specialist webshop at Devine Music
